Immerse yourself in the Apple Isle on a nine day self-drive holiday.
Explore the vibrant capital city, Hobart where you can see world- renowned art, eat freshly caught seafood and climb a mountain all in one day.
On the west coast, Strahan is the perfect destination for the naturalist and those seeking a relaxing escape from the daily stress of modern life. Surrounded by national parks and wildlife refuges, there are plenty of outdoor adventures to be had, an abundance of fresh food, and a dark-yet-rich history.
Cradle Mountain is a place for all seasons, beaming through summer (with occasional unexpected snowfalls), gleaming white in winter, and glowing golden in autumn when the deciduous fagus turns in colour on the slopes above Dove Lake.
One of the country’s oldest settlements, Launceston has a strikingly well-preserved cityscape of architectural styles from Georgian to mid-20th century, dotted with beautiful city parks and strung along the banks of the North Esk River and kanamaluka / River Tamar. Tasmania’s second city is one of only two in Australia to be named as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, and its Saturday farmers’ market is among the best in the nation.
Occupying most of Freycinet Peninsula on Tasmania’s east coast, Freycinet National Park has dramatic pink granite peaks, secluded bays, white sandy beaches and abundant wildlife. Walks lead to bays and beaches, while the waters beckon for swimming, snorkelling and kayaking.
